Access to the
Biltmore Estate

Directly surrounding the Biltmore Estate, Biltmore Forest is an incorporated town with a population of just under 1,500 and is located between the Blue Ridge Parkway and the City of Asheville. The town was incorporated in 1923, and its Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990. The town was formed after the Biltmore Estate sold portions of its land to reduce the cost of maintenance.  Today, Biltmore Forest is celebrated for its striking architecture, with many homes reflecting the same exceptional craftsmanship found at the Biltmore Estate. The Town provides police, public works, water, zoning, and sanitation services. The Ramble at Biltmore Forest adjoins it to the south as a newer, upscale community with amenities such as a 9,000 square foot wellness center, scenic parks, a heated pool, and luxury homes.  Biltmore Park was developed through the vision of Jack Cecil, whose grandfather, George Vanderbilt, was the creator of the Biltmore Estate.  Originally the Vanderbilt family’s dairy land, Biltmore Park is essentially an urban village with shops, restaurants, chain stores, a YMCA fitness center, and a large movie theater.  The 42-acre Biltmore Town Square is a mixed-use community with condos, townhomes, and luxury homes. Biltmore Village, located directly outside the gates of the Biltmore Estate, is laden with cobblestone streets, restaurants, high-end shopping, and art galleries. Biltmore Village’s architecture is also reminiscent of the Biltmore Estate and was once the home of Biltmore Estate staff members. There are a small number of Biltmore Village homes, condo properties, and commercial properties located within the Village. All Souls Episcopal Church, consecrated in 1896, is another distinct architectural marvel in Biltmore Village, as it is the only Richard Morris Hunt (known as the Dean of American Architecture) church in the world. With over 750 homes on a serene lake setting, Biltmore Lake was also developed by the Biltmore Farms group and is a mere 15 minutes from the Biltmore Estate.
