Biltmore Park Buyer's Guide

As America’s largest privately owned home, the Biltmore Estate is legendary in Asheville and has had a tremendous influence on local architecture, real estate growth, and luxury communities throughout the city. Biltmore Park was envisioned by the Vanderbilt family lineage, specifically Jack Cecil, the grandson of George Vanderbilt. At one point, George Vanderbilt owned 125,000 acres of land from the Biltmore Estate to Mount Pisgah.
The neighborhood has its own walkable town center with ample shopping, dining, fitness, and entertainment. It’s hard to believe the bustling Biltmore Town Square was once the site of the Vanderbilt family’s dairy land. Situated on 750 acres off the I-26 at Long Shoals Road (a single exit from the Asheville airport), the Biltmore Park community includes everything from townhomes and condos to luxury residences and Arts & Crafts-style homes.
Discovering the perfect residential pocket is the most important key to unlocking and fully enjoying everything featured in our Ultimate Guide to South Asheville.
Biltmore Town Square
Of the over 700 acres that Biltmore Town Square is situated on, the Biltmore Town Square consists of about 42 acres where residences blend seamlessly with the businesses in the community. While the Biltmore Farms Group broke ground on Biltmore Park in 1995. the Biltmore Park Town Square came to fruition almost a decade later, first with the Reuter YMCA, which opened in 2003. By 2008 and 2009, the Hilton Biltmore Park Hotel, Barnes & Noble, OP Taylor, REI, and the Regal Biltmore Grande Theater opened, though community development was slow due to the 2008 recession. Biltmore Park is also home to a branch of Western Carolina University (WCU), a site primarily used by working students seeking a professional or graduate degree.
The Regal Biltmore Grande Stadium, at 292 Thetford Street, is a premium movie theater in the Asheville region, consisting of 15 auditoriums with features like luxury electric recliners, stadium seating, concessions (including a bar with draft beer and wine), a small arcade area in the lobby, and accessibility features like wheelchair-friendly entrances and seating as well as assistive tech like closed captioning devices and descriptive audio listening headsets.
