Biltmore Park Culinary Map

Biltmore Park Town Square

South Asheville has effectively become the city’s second "downtown" for foodies and shoppers, and for good reason, with seemingly endless variety and walkability without the parking hurdles of the city center. The heartbeat of South Asheville, Biltmore Park’s Town Square, serves as more than a meeting place; it’s “where life comes together”—a centralized hub where community can be found around every corner.

Boasting a high concentration of some of the best shopping, dining, and entertainment options the South Asheville community has to offer, every point of interest is within a short stroll of one another, making it a destination worthy of spending an entire day (or every day, for those who live at the center of it all).

As you’ll discover, the culinary scene in Biltmore Park is just one reason people are moving here; learn the rest in our Ultimate Guide to South Asheville

Culinary Map of Biltmore Park

One of our favorite aspects of Biltmore Park is its balance between well-known chain restaurants and retailers and local gems. With over two dozen stores and over a dozen dining selections, our detailed culinary map of Biltmore Park restaurants below is here to help you eat like a local and decide where to make future dinner reservations.

For national and regional chains, there’s P.F. Chang’s, Brixx Wood Fired Pizza, Hickory Tavern, Which Wich, 131 Main, Taco Boy, Palm Berries, and Cold Stone Creamery & Rocky Mountain Chocolate. Hickory Tavern is a neighborhood sports bar where you can kick back, watch the game, and indulge in some deliriously good pub favorites (looking at you, Pre-Game Combo Platter).

After pre-gaming here, we often find ourselves at Cold Stone Creamery for a little post-game sweet treat, because there’s just something so satisfying about watching your toppings of choice being folded into your favorite ice cream on a frozen granite stone.

Biltmore Park is also home to a handful of local restaurants that have multiple locations across Asheville, including Luella’s Bar-B-Que, Thirsty Monk South, Nine Mile, and Posana. Luella’s is an enduring favorite of locals and travelers alike in Asheville, thanks in large part to its scratch-made sides and standout signature meats. Whether opting for the St. Louis dry-rubbed Ribs or vinegar-infused Chopped Pork, chances are this icon will quickly earn a regular slot on your restaurant rotation.

Likewise, Thirsty Monk South’s crave-worthy offerings of Bratwurst, Chipotle Chicharrones, and Pint of Bacon (yes, you read that right: a straight-up pint of bacon), paired with your choice of classic cocktail, glass of wine, or Monk-Packaged Beer, will be your go-to gathering spot with friends after a long day at work or when you want to unwind on the weekend.

Independent restaurants unique to Biltmore Park include Mosaic Cafe, Fork Lore, and The Sweet Escape. The aptly named Fork Lore serves up “storied food and spirits” within the Hilton Hotel. As an all-day eatery, a couple of our go-to menu items include the Broken Yolk Sandwich (which combines regional highlights like cage-free eggs, Biltmore Dairy Farms® Golden Blaze Cheddar, and City Bakery sourdough bread), and the Sunburst Trout with seared local trout in brown butter and toasted almond.

For brunch, we start with a southern jewel: Fried Green Tomatoes with Pimento Cheese (it’s under Shareables, but we sometimes have a hard time with that concept because it’s so good). For our main squeeze brunch item, we opt for their Crab Cake Bennie topped with the local favorite, Lusty Monk remoulade.

Other must-visit staples we frequent for weekend brunch are Posana and Mosaic Cafe. The former boasts a 100% gluten-free kitchen and a thoughtful menu to highlight seasonal offerings. We love their Bagels N’ Lox or Biscuits & Jam paired with a side of Truffle Fries and a unique London Mimosa (with Earl Grey tea & syrup, orange juice, and Prosecco) for a true “brunch experience.”  Shopping at Biltmore Park

Shopping in Biltmore Park

Biltmore Town Square is not just a culinary mecca; it’s also a paradise for self-proclaimed shopaholics who are ready to indulge in a little retail therapy. The directory features nearly two dozen shops offering everything from high-end apparel and personal care to outdoor gear and even a dog bakery and groomer. Not to mention, several wealth management and financial service providers to support you in growing and planning your financial future with total confidence.

Remember the dog bakery and groomer we mentioned? It’s cleverly named Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming and offers not only full-service grooming, but nutritious food & treats, adorable toys & accessories, and doggie spa products. Like this shop, we believe your four-legged family member that’s always up for a cuddle and keeps a perpetual smile on your face is well-deserving of a little pampering, too!

Some of the other top shopping options include Altar’d State, Athleta, Barnes & Noble, LOFT, Lululemon, Lovesac, Club Champion, Kendra Scott Jewelry, Orvis, Talloni Shoe Salon, and REI Co-op. Looking for a fresh new look? Biltmore Park Town Square is home to a variety of beauty, style, and wellness stores, including Cheveux Salon, Sport Clips Haircuts, Warby Parker, LensCrafters, and Rowan Professional Piercing.

Thinking of upgrading your ride? Biltmore Park Town Square also offers a Tesla Self-Serve Drive demo to experience the innovative (and safely supervised) technology behind the wheel of a Tesla Model 3 or Model Y. For eco-conscious EV drivers, this expertly planned neighborhood even offers 12 Tesla Superchargers and a convenient EVgo charging station.

Global Dining Beyond Biltmore Park

Of course, South Asheville dining extends beyond the confines of Biltmore Park, with Hendersonville Road as a star player providing a miles-long corridor of not only global dining but specialty retail options. With a treasure trove of restaurants along this stretch, personal favorites we recommend include Stone Bowl Korean, 12 Bones Smokehouse, Farm Burger South, Vinnie’s Neighborhood Italian South, Early Girl Eatery, Biscuit Head, Tupelo Honey, Blue Sky Cafe, Post 25 Kitchen & Lounge, Abuela’s Little Kitchen, and Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack.

The latter is arguably one of the top 10 best restaurants in the city from our perspective, specializing in Nashville-style hot chicken and Southern soul food. We find ourselves daydreaming about their Honey-Style Tenders, Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, and Fried Okra at least once a week. Do not miss out on their Fried Mac Poppers (with at least two sides of Zippy Ranch), Chicken & Waffles, Banana Pudding, Cheerwine Slushie (boozie optional), and Coca-Cola Cake. Prepare to become obsessed, and thank us later!
