David Begley is not just a Realtor–he's a true native of Black Mountain with a deep commitment to the local community. Armed with a BA in Business/Economics, David's journey in public service began as a criminal Magistrate and later as a Small Claims Judge for over five years in NC's 28th Judicial District.
His dedication extended beyond the courtroom; David also left his mark on the local sports scene. Coaching Charles D. Owen Middle School’s wrestling team, he led them to their first-ever conference championship. His leadership also shone while coaching the Charles D. Owen High School’s wrestling team with passion and determination. David's involvement in education also included service as Vice-Chair and later Chairman of Owen High School's Advisory Council.
With an impressive 28 years of experience in local community banking, David's financial acumen is unmatched. Departing the Bank when rated #2 in overall performance for all NC banks and savings institutions, he served as Treasurer and then Executive Vice President during his time there, wearing multiple hats as a licensed mortgage loan officer (MLO), senior compliance officer, mortgage processor/underwriter, and manager of the bank's loans-in-process (LIPs). His expertise included overseeing construction inspections and ensuring a seamless experience for clients.
As a North Carolina Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser with over 35 years of local experience, David brings a wealth of knowledge to the real estate industry. His commitment to community service is evident through his roles on Buncombe's original Health & Human Services Board (DHHS) and his chairmanship on Buncombe County's Parks, Greenways, and Recreation Advisory Board. David's service also extends to being the Treasurer of the local Rotary Club and contributing to the Western North Carolina Alliance's Sustainable Development Task Force.
In the realm of local government, David has made significant contributions as the Vice-Chair of Black Mountain's Board of Adjustments, as an appointee to Black Mountain's first Comprehensive Planning Committee, and as an active participant in the Black Mountain Chamber of Commerce's Land Use, Economic Development, and Tourism committees.
David's commitment to community, coupled with his extensive financial and legal background, makes him a Realtor you can trust. When you choose David Begley as your Realtor, you're not only getting a real estate professional; you're also gaining a dedicated community advocate with a lifetime of experience and a passion for helping people with all their significant real estate decisions in the Swannanoa Valley and surrounding communities.
